Just want to print something or quickly check your mails before heading to your next meeting? In those moments it can be really annoying to have your iMac Intel 27” take several minutes to boot. But sadly your HDD drive can’t go any faster, as its read-and-write head needs time to read all the data and send them to the memory. Time to replace your iMac with a newer and faster one? No way, ‘cause we’ll provide you with everything you need to upgrade even older iMacs from 2012 with a modern SSD drive.
Not only will your boot times be shortened to a few seconds, but apps will also start much faster. What's more, the compact solid-state drives operate absolutely silently and produce no residual heat—so they're as easy on your ears as they are on your iMac.
Adapter and cable for a 2.5" SSD: All the cables and adapters you need to install a new SSD are included in the upgrade bundle. This option does not include a SSD.
Opening-Tools: To install your new hard drive internally, you need to open up your iMac. To ensure that this procedure is as safe and easy as possible, the kit contains all the special tools you need, which are also used in our DIY instructions.
Driver and specialty bits: Installing the SSD requires a bit of screwing. The necessary Torx security bits are seldom found in an off-the-shelf toolbox, so we included them in the kit.
A performance upgrade is a simple and inexpensive way to get more power out of your iMac. The kit is, however, also worthwhile for newer iMac Intel 27" models that are already factory-equipped with a SSD—either for installing a second fast hard drive for even more memory or for repairing a damaged storage drive.
Just because your iMac is a little older doesn’t mean you have to go to the expense of buying a new one. With the Upgrade Bundle, you can turn it into a high-performance machine in no time. And the fact that you're doing the environment a favour by upgrading instead of buying new is another positive side effect.
