Why won’t get past the Zune logo?

So my dad found has other old Zune and it’s works and I just restarted it and it went to a grey screen after the Zune logo I don’t here any hard drive falling sounds is it a software glitch?

@thecat847 yes, it absolutely could be the software. Now, that is not to say it is not the HDD. You won't hear "any hard drive falling sounds" on a dead drive. I would consider replacing the HDD as well. You can alway get an external adapter for the hard drive and try to access it as an additional drive from your computer. Now, read on here about the Zune firmware etc.

Look at the video and listen carefully

@thecat847 I hear a lot of ambient noise and maybe, just maybe, some faint clicking. If so, you know it's your drive. Like I said before "I would consider replacing the HDD as well" :-)

@thecat847 nope, but remember I am old. Can't see or hear well anymore :-) What do you see/hear?

Oh and I left it on and it just died when I tried to restart it it showed a dead battery icon and I charged it for 30+ minutes and it is still not working
